After deciding it was time to start her own family, Katrina began to do some research and found that there are many, many options available for pregnancy and childbirth. Katrina believes that there is no one-way to labor and give birth and this is why she chose to begin her doula career. Her goal is to help educate women and their families in their options and to empower them to make the decisions that are right for them. Each pregnant mother, couple and family are unique. During 2 to 3 prenatal visits, Katrina spends time discussing with the mother and her family on their beliefs, needs and wants. She finds out where their base of understanding is and works with them so they feel confident in making decisions. During the labor and birth, Katrina works with both the mother and the father/partner to make the experience as positive as possible. Along with her heart and hands, she brings an assortment of tools. She follows up with a visit after the birth to check on the new mom and baby and to discuss how the birth went. Katrina proudly serves the Colorado Springs & Pueblo area for her labor doula services. Childbirth classes are offered to those in the Colorado Springs area. Discounted packages for classes and doula services are available. Other discounts available for those who qualify.
